He wrote a story on what work Vinod Dham was doing at Intel at that time. (Today, Vinod Dham is a venture-capitalist in San Jose and he funds several IT companies. He was recently in India, funding a company which is designing a chip which is 100 times faster than the current Pentium).
In 1998, Roop visited the Honda headquarters in Tokyo and also visited 2 of their plants and interviewed their top executives. He wrote a cover story on Honda in Business India.
In November 1999, Roop attended the Oracle Open World at LA, and interviewed Larry Ellison and Scott McNealy of Sun Microsystems.
He has also written a biography on the late H.K. Firodia, who was the founder of the Rs.5 billion Firodia empire.

A Mech. Engineer, after working for 10 years at TELCO (Tata Engineering & Locomotive Company, now renamed as Tata Motors, India’s largest truck & car manufacturer), and simultaneously writing for Indian Express, Maharashtra Herald, Money Opportunities, Shree Profit, Indian Post and Independent, Roop joined Business India (BI) as a correspondent in 1989. He rose to become Principal Correspondent and after a 10 year stint, joined Business Today as Asst. Editor in January 2000.
During his tenure with BI, Roop got an opportunity to travel abroad several times and filed technology stories from USA and Japan.
During 1993, he spent a week traveling all over USA, visiting all the then AT&T plants, R&D centers and even their ships which were used for laying submarine cables. In the same year, visited San Jose, where he spent one full day at Intel, with their then Vice-President Vinod Dham, who was also the architect of their Pentium chip, which was launched around that time.
A Commerce and Law graduate, besides working for 10 years as a software professional (ACC, Mumbai and Data Systems Services, Pune), Usha Karnani has also simultaneously been a freelance journalist and has been regularly writing for the past 15 years for several newspapers like Times of India, Indian Express, Mid-day, Maharashtra Herald, to name some, besides magazines like Femina, New Woman, Eve’s Weekly, Savvy, Cine Blitz, Zee Entertainment, Signature, Meri Saheli and even did the cover story for a Kannada magazine, Taranga.
Usha has also done a radio interview in English on AIR, Pune with Mrs. Lila Poonawalla, then the MD of Alfa Laval, a Swedish company.
She has compered several shows in English, Hindi and Sindhi.
